back pain disc herniation extrusion low back pain retrain back pain Sep 09, 2018

💥 It is high time to retrain the misinformation pipe line regarding back pain! Today let’s look at hermiations💥

⚪️Disc herniations are common

⚪️ Despite imaging results, disc herniations are often found in asymptomatic individuals

This may not be a consolation if you’ve got one and it hurts but...

⚪️ Herniated disc can heal over time (both of mine have btw)

⚪️ A smart treatment plan with conservative therapeutic support is key. .

Research (citation at bottom) shows that spontaneous regression of herniated disc tissue can occur, and sometimes it completely resolves!

Here are the rates of spontaneous regression:

👍 96% for disc sequestration, with 46% Complete Resolution

👍 70% for disc extrusion, with 15% Complete Resolution

👍 41% for disc protrusion

👍 13% for disc bulging.
